USU Center for Women and Gender present Angela Davis: “The Intersection of Arts and Social Justice”

Through her activism and scholarship over many decades, Dr. Angela Davis has been deeply involved in promoting social justice. Her work as an educator – both at the university level and in the larger public sphere –always emphasizes the importance of building community for economic, racial, and gender equity.

Angela Davis is an American political activist, academic, and author. She emerged as a prominent counterculture activist and radical in the 1960’s as a leader of the Communist Party USA, and had close relations with the Black Panther Party through her involvement in the Civil Rights Movement.
