19th Annual Young Artist Cup

April 12 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

This annual event showcases the musical talents of Mountain Crest and Ridgeline High School students. Students compete for cash prizes and trophies in six areas: graphic arts design, female and male vocalist, strings, brass/winds/percussion and piano. The event will be held in the Ridgeline High School Auditorium and admission is free.  Thursday is vocal and string competition and Friday is piano, winds and percussion.

Colonel Gail Halvorsen

Colonel Gail Halvorsen: Everyday hero, Candy Bomber will be this year's guest at the Dean's Spring Seminar. As a pilot during the Berlin Airlift, Gail Halvorsen started Operation Little Vittles to provide the children of Berlin with chocolate and candy. The operation started small, but quickly turned into a national project with pilots dropping candy every other day.  Halvorsen was recognized as a hero and became known by many nicknames, including the Candy Bomber, Uncle Wiggly Wings, and the Chocolate Flier.
